Last week was World Salt Awareness Week, and this year’s theme has been «More Flavour, Less Salt»

It is estimated that most people are consuming much more salt than recommended. The evidence on the harmful effects of high-salt intake has been widely confirmed.

Reducing salt from the current intake of 9–12 g/day to less than 5g/day will have major beneficial health effects along with major cost savings in all countries around the world.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has changed our lives in many ways, including how we eat and time we spend cooking at home. This is the reason why, this year, World Salt Awareness Week has been entirely dedicated to home cooking.
